Fourteen additional judges of the Bombay High Court, six additional judges of the Madras High Court and six additional judges of the Patna High Court have been made permanent.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended that these judges be made permanent judges of their respective High Courts by resolutions passed on March 11. By three notifications issued yesterday, the Central Government has concurred with their recommendation and intimated that the following judges have been made permanent.
Bombay High Court
All fourteen judges were appointed as additional judges of the Bombay High Court in June 2017. Their term was set to expire in June this year. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended that these judges be made permanent pursuant to a High Court Collegium recommendation made in December 2018.
Madras High Court
All six judges were elevated from the Bar as additional judges of the High Court in June 2017. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended that these judges be made permanent pursuant to a High Court Collegium recommendation made in December 2018.
Patna High Court
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended that these judges be made permanent pursuant to a High Court Collegium recommendation made in July 2018.
