Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court Gita Mittal has issued directions to reduce waste generation and minimise use of plastic items Delhi courts.
Citing concerns of environmental degradation as well as pollution and waste management specifically in Delhi, Mittal J. in an administrative order, has stated that it is imperative that courts in Delhi reduce waste generation.
As an immediate measure, a direction has been issued to minimise plastic utilisation, especially single use plastic items including pens and other stationary items . . .
