Breaking: Aadhaar is in furtherance of fundamental rights, submits Centre [Read affidavit]June 9 2017
The Central government has filed its response in the petition challenging various notifications making Aadhaar mandatory for 17 different social service schemes.
In the affidavit, which runs upto 46 pages, the Centre has contended that the Aadhaar scheme is in furtherance of the fundamental rights envisaged by the Constitution and not against it.
The Centre has also challenged the locus of the petitioners . . .
