TN National Law School commences operations; 71 students admitted in first batch

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha inaugurated the National Law School of Tami Nadu, located at Srirangam, yesterday. The inauguration, reportedly done via video-conferencing, took place in the presence of the Acting Chief Justice of Madras, RK Agarwal who will soon be confirmed as the Chief Justice.

As per the admission results available on the school’s website, a total of 71 students have been admitted in the first batch, out of which 35 are in the open category. The admissions have been made on the basis of the student’s CLAT rankings. The highest rank attained by the admitted students in the Open Category is 514 while the lowest 2,372. Only five out of the thirty-five listed in the All India Open list are shown as residents of Tamil Nadu.
