Reiterating the contents of the circular dated September 18, the Election Committee of the Supreme Court Bar Association Elections has stated that it will take appropriate action against those found to be in breach of the same..The circular of September 18, which sets out the code of conduct to be followed for SCBA elections, lays down, inter alia, following Rules:.“No candidate would offer any kind of allurement in the nature of any gift, feast or party during or prior to the election..Distribution/display of any handbill/pamphlets or any other campaigning material would not be permitted in the Supreme Court premises throughout election..During the election campaign, SMS should be routed only through SCBA Election office and a “Do Not Disturb” register be also created to enrol those members of the Bar who do not wish to receive calls or SMS as part of the election campaign..Each of the contesting candidates will be allowed to send maximum 4 SMSs to the Members of SCBA for the purpose of Campaigning from the date of announcement of election.”.Interestingly, the circular also mandates that interns and law students shall not be allowed into the high security zone on the date of the elections..The Election Committee has prepared the Provisional voters list and reasons for non-inclusion of voters have also been kept on file in the SCBA office..Members can bring material to support their claim for inclusion in the list till 4 pm on November 27.
