Manupatra Annual Essay 2010 competition winners declared

The Manupatra All India Essay Competition has unveiled its 2010 winners finally, after the submission deadline got over on 31st July.

 

The essay competition encourages and promotes creative thinking and knowledge of legal understanding and research amongst the students from India, Bangladesh, Srilanka & Pakistan. The entries are judged by a committee of leading law academicians, jurists and law practitioners from all corners of the world.

 

This year’s winners are as follows:


Category A: First Year Students of 5 Year Law Course

 

1st Prize – First prize spot is shared between Apurva Mudliar from University School of Law and Legal Studies GGSIPU, Delhi and Anu. G from the Tamilnadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. Both get an individual cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

2nd Prize – Dushyant Tiwari from National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi receives a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

 

3rd Prize – Kruthika Prakash from the National Law University, Jodhpur receives a cash prize of Rs. 7,500 (approximately $160).

Category B: Second Year Students of 5 Year Law Course

 

1st Prize – First prize is shared between Sanyukta Banerjie from Gujarat National Law University and Shruti Kurup of National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi. Both get an individual cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

 

2nd Prize – Aakriti Pandey from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow receives a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

 

3rd Prize – Aanchal Kapoor from Gujarat National Law University receives a cash prize of Rs. 7,500 (approximately $160).

 

Category C: Third Year Students of 5 Year Law Course / First Year Student of 3 Year Law Course


1st Prize – Pallavi Arora, a third year student from the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow wins a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 (approximately $330).

2nd Prize – Kush Kalra, a third year student from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala receives a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

 

3rd Prize – Third prize is shared between Vishalakshi Sathianathan, third year student from the ILS Law College, Pune and Aarshi Tirkey a third year student from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. Both receive cash prize of Rs. 5,000 (approximately $110) each.

Category D: Fourth & Fifth Year Students of 5 Year Law Course / Second & Third Year Students of 3 Year Law Course


1st Prize – Shailshakya, fifth year student from the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow receives a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 (approximately $330).

 

2nd Prize – Bhaskar Jyoti Thakuria, fourth year student from the Gujarat National Law University wins a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

 

3rd Prize – Manendra Singh, fourth year student from the Government Law College, Mumbai wins a cash prize of Rs. 7,500 (approximately $160).

 

Best Researched Essays:


Krishnendu Hitesh Sayta, third year student from the Government Law College, Mumbai wins a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).

 

Vibha Arya, third year student from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala wins a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 (approximately $220).
