Justice Aftab Alam may be next TDSAT Chairman; TDSAT releases “Tentative Cause List” after gap of three months

Recently retired Supreme Court judge, Justice Aftab Alam has been recommended by the Chief Justice of India, for the post of Chairman of the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT). Justice Alam, who delivered the judgment in the Novartis case in April this year, retired from the Supreme Court on April 18, 2013. Speaking to Bar & Bench, Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi said that Justice Alam was known to be “pleasant to the Bar”. “He is a very liberal judge”, said the Senior Advocate, “I think this will be a very good appointment.”
