In an extraordinary turn of events reflective of the deteriorating state of affairs at the Bar, lawyers once again unleashed terror in the heart of the national capital, at the Patiala House court complex..A repeat of the events on Monday, by the so called “nationalist” lawyers, occurred despite interference by the Supreme Court of India this morning..The Court had heard a PIL field by JNU Alumnus in the morning and issued a direction regulating the entry of lawyers inside the court room. Violence erupted despite this direction, prompting a mentioning by a battery of Senior lawyers including Kapil Sibal, Raju Ramachandran, Indira Jaising and Prashant Bhushan at 2 pm. Jaising, who seemed visibly upset, expressed concern for the safety of the lawyers representing the accused. The Court lamented the state of affairs of the legal profession..Then, in a rare move, the Court proceeded to send a team of lawyers accompanied by policemen to Patiala House court to assess the situation..The Police officer in charge of security of Supreme Court was summoned to the Court by the Bench, which directed him to provide security to the lawyers..The team, which includes Senior Advocates Kapil Sibal, Rajeev Dhavan, Harin Raval, Dushyant Dave, Ajit Sinha and advocate ADN Rao, have reached the Patiala House court complex, as per the latest reports.
