Bombay HC taking proactive steps to fight pendency; Special committee to examine pending civil suits for speedy disposal

May 16, 2012 | A novel initiative spearheaded by the Bombay Bar Association (BBA) and the Bombay Incorporated Law Society (BILS) seeks to tackle the problem of judicial backlog. A special committee shall examine and identify those civil suits which can be disposed of in a speedy and efficient manner. Suits wherein the cause of action no longer exists or where the parties are not interested in pursuing the matter will be placed before a Judge for a quick disposal.  comments (0)


CLAT Booze Bills: NUJS defies providing information under RTI Act

Singh, former Vice-Chancellor of the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata, in an interview with Associate Editor, Raghul Sudheesh admitted that huge expenses were incurred on the 2011 CLAT Core Committee meetings organized by WBNUJS, especially on liquor.
