HSA strengthens Infra and Energy practice with Trilegal Counsel Avirup Nag

Avirup Nag, Counsel at Trilegal, has recently joined HSA Advocates as an Associate Partner at the firm’s New Delhi office. He has been inducted into the firm’s Infrastructure and Energy practice group..Avirup, who joined HSA roughly two weeks ago, was previously working at Trilegal as a Counsel. At Trilegal, Aviruip was part of the Infrastructure and Energy team..On Avirup’s joining, HSA Managing Partner Hemant Sahai, who also heads the firm’s Infrastructure and Energy Practice said, “Avirup has a very strong experience in this practice area. He will further strengthen our projects team and that is what we are continuing to focus on.”.Avirup is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore. After graduating, he had stints at both Trilegal and ICICI Bank before moving to Europe for further studies in 2007..Avirup did his LL.M (European Masters in Law and Economics) under the European Union Erasmus Mundus programme from the University of Hamburg and the University of Vienna. After this he joined Herbert Smith Freehills where he worked for about two years before moving back to India..The HSA Infrastructure and Energy team currently comprises two Partners, three Associate Partners (including Avirup) and about ten Associates..Avirup’s move comes at a time when HSA’s tax team has seen a reduction in size. Recently, HSA Tax Partner Abhishek Dutta resigned from the firm, taking two other HSA associates along with him, to set up his own firm called ‘Aureus Law Partners’.
