The team from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore (NLSIU) has won the 54th Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition defeating Singapore Management University in the finals..The NLSIU winning team includes Raag Yadava, Geetha Hariharan, Shreya Jain and Akshaya Ramadurai. The team from SMU consisted of Kenneth Tan, Shaun Pereira, Aleksandar Georgiev, Liu Zhao Xiang, and Chong Hui Ying..Raag Yadava also bagged the award for the Best Speaker in the Final Rounds (Source:NLU Delhi FB page)..This year’s edition saw the registration of 632 teams from 92 countries, including Bahrain, Iran, Macau, Sierra Leone, and Trinidad and Tobago..This is only the second time that a team from India has won the competition, with the last victory back in 1999. Fourteen years ago, a team consisting of Dipin Sabharwal, Sapna Khajuria and Priya Pillai defeated South Africa’s University of Pretoria to win the competition.
