RSG Law firm Rankings 2013: Amarchand tops the chart; Khaitan moves up to tie with AZB; Top firms score lower on client satisfaction; Smaller and Newer firms preferred

RSG, a London based research and consulting firm has come out with this year’s ranking for top 40 law firms in the country and a report on the Indian law firms and the legal market.

The latest JC profile shows Talat Shah as co founder. However JC was a proprietorship founded by H Jayseh in 2000 until 2008 . Surprisinglty therefore how can Talat be a co founder of JC with retrospective effect. Also interesting to note that in th e earlier JC profile Talat Shah and Detty Davis were not mentioned as partners and seem to find a place only to ramp up nos despite the fact that they have been partners for some time. Even with these window dressing of numbers the profile shows 9 partners diffferent from 15 ( along with 62 lawyers) reported to RSG for rankings

Wake up JC and own up People who get information from on line profiles are not imbeciles and can see through such stunts

The latest JC profile shows only 9 partners and finally removes the name of Fraser,Wadia and Jarial. However where are the balance partners. Either JC has inflated the number of partners ( and maybe lawyers) just for a ranking or it does not seem to know how to count!

Within a year of losing its most talented partners (Huzefa, Vandana, Freddy and Mr Ookabhoy) Juris Corp has slid considerably in the rankings and has to resort to inflating partners, using old profiles and similar types of actions to barely come within the 40. This is due to its bad HR policies which have also forced over 30 of its most talented seniors to leave along with its top long serving partners who left out of sheer frustration.
