Parliament gives its nod for Sexual Harassment at Workplace Bill

The Union Cabinet has finally approved, the Protection of Women against Sexual Harassment at Workplace Bill to ensure a much needed safe working environment for women.

Complaints committee recommendations would be only prima-facie findings and the matter has to come before the concerned department for regular enquiry where normally the enquiry officer would be a man as otherwise the delinquent will allege gender bias. Therefore, the whole system finally falls under the consideration of administration dominated by men. Therefore it is suggested that the regular enquiry should be enquired by two enquiry officer - one man and another women which condition must be made mandatory.

a 'cabinet' approval for a Bill is NOT the same thing as a Parliamentary approval. you should know better.
