No increase in crimes by juveniles, Ministry ignored views of stakeholders – Standing Committee on the JJ Bill 2014

The government’s plan to enact Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill of 2014 has found opposition in the form of a Standing Committee Report. The report, which was presented to the Parliament on February 25, highlights a number of flaws in the proposed legislation, and also questions some of the most far-reaching provisions of the Bill.
