ELP Partner Madhur Baya sets up LexArbitri

Madhur Baya, Dispute Resolution Partner at Economic Laws Practice has recently resigned from the firm to set up his own firm called ‘LexArbitri’, according to Legally India.

Madhur had joined ELP in 2003 and was made Associate Partner in 2010 and Partner in 2012. Madhur, who is dual qualified to practice in India and England and Wales, also holds a cost and management accountant degree. Prior to joining ELP, he was managing indirect tax compliance and litigation for Bharat Heavy Electricals.

ELP was recently in the news after Equity Partner, Tarun Gulati, who was heading the Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice at the Delhi office left along with ten other lawyers to join PDS Legal. ELP has since then hired 9 lawyers from different law firms to replace the team of 11 lawyers. Former Trilegal Counsel Amit Vyas and Amarchand Principal Associate Vinayak Burman too have recently joined the Mumbai office of ELP as Associate Partners.
