A Career in the Legal Academia

In this post, I reflect upon a legal academic career in India and seek to address some concerns and set out some considerations for law students and young graduates aspiring to embark upon this career.

Article 16? Have you even read it once? What you said does not make any sense whatsoever!

And how does Radhika even come into the picture? She did not make the comment. Are you really THIS stupid?

Thank you.
Some of the organizations you may look at are Centre for Policy Research, PRS Legislative Research, Centre for Civil Society, NIPFP, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, and Centre for Law and Policy Research. All of these engage in research in legal or public policy issues.

A perfect lawman does not answer clearly, avoid the pertinent question and boost up the litigation which is the foundation of his bread and butter. Do not you know? There are 2% convictions in India in criminal cases and only 26% convictions in heinous offences of rape. The Public sector banks recover only 2% per annum out of the suit filed accounts amount in India. There is no law and no judiciary in India virtually it is Litigation Industry to employ some ones.

Dear Radhika! First of all congratulations for joining academia after doing LLM from Harvard! Just after doing LLB from CLC, I also started teaching in IP University as guest lecturer on Fridays & Saturdays while I was working in a law firm. However, I did not find it much interesting specially when I was asked to check the answer sheets of so many students! I like writing articles criticizing judgments, some of which have already been published in top academic and professional journals. You mentioned about research organizations and think tanks in your article. Could you please mention some of them which are engaged in this kind of legal writing?
