NUJS holds inter-college fest “Outlawed 2012”; Participation from over 30 colleges witnessed

The National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (NUJS) recently concluded its cultural inter-college fest “Outlawed 2012”. The fest was held from February 6-8, 2012. The cultural fest was organised along with the NUJS sports fest, “Invicta” which itself saw over participation from more than 600 students from various law colleges.

 

Participants from over thirty colleges took part in a myriad of every conceivable event, starting from Mad Ads, TurnCoat Debate, Sixty Seconds to Fame and even an online gaming event with, what NUJS student Aman Gupta refers to as a “colourfully misunderstood name”. (The gaming event was called “G-Spot”)

 

The first day saw participants frantically running around the campus to win The Amazing Race, NUJS style. Eventually, the day ended with a “DJ night”; which was a “soirée of lights, music and dancing” according to Tarunya Shankar from NUJS.

 

The second day opened up with the Eastern Vocals, with Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) and Amity taking the 1st and 2nd prize respectively. Meanwhile, inside the auditorium, the “Theatre Event” took place with Ashutosh College claiming the best play and HNLU picking up the prize forBest Script . Three students from NALSAR stole the show at “Word Quizzard”, claiming all three prizes. The day ended with an entertaining performance from Fire On Dawson, a German band with an Indian lead singer.

 

Excitement levels peaked on day three with Amity Law School taking the 1st prize in Group Dance event with a performance themed on sexual violence against women This was followed by the fashion show, with JGLS unanimously claiming 1st prize.

 

The third day also saw the most anticipated performance of the entire fest: The Raghu Dixit Project. Needless to say, expecations were surpassed. “ All in all, it was an event not soon to be forgotten by organizers and participants alike” conclude Shankar and Gupta.
