Trilegal's Mumbai office is advising Glenmark Generics (GG) to raise Rs. 570 Crore ($118 Million) through an IPO, valuing GG at about Rs. 4,800 Crores ($ 1 Billion). Glenmark Generics' parent company, Glenmark Pharma (GP), and its affiliates own about 97 percent in GG.
GG's parent company, Glenmark Pharma, is one of Trilegal's long-standing clients. The Trilegal team was led by Partner Amit Tambe, assisted by Associates Ajit Sharma, and Sriram Ramachandran. Marshall Mendoza, VP (Legal and Company Secretary) was GG's in-house legal advisor to the issue. Amarchand Mangaldas advised the underwriters on the domestic law. Continuing a profitable alliance, 'best friend' Allen & Overy were in on the deal as international advisers to the underwriters.
Glenmark Pharma, which went the QIP route a fortnight ago, was advised by the same set of legal advisers, in identical roles.
