Merger Market has released its latest report for the first half of 2011. Global M&A for the first half of 2011 totalled US$ 1,185.1bn, up 30.5% from the same period in 2010 (US$ 907.8bn). Deal count however was down by 0.5% at 5,813 announced deals compared to 5,843 for H1 2010.
In the Asiapac region, India accounted for 12.6 percent of the total deals in terms of value with the Reliance – BP’s $7.2 billion ‘transformational deal’ topping the charts.
AZB & Partners topped the league tables with 20 deals amounting to $11 billion with best friends TT & A and Linklaters with the second and third spot. AZB & Partners advised some of the major deals like the Reliance – BP, Patni-Igate, Jyothy – Henkel deals. TTA and Linklaters also joined on the mega Reliance – BP deal along with Blackstone – Serco deal. Below are the rankings by value and volume compiled by Merger Market for the first half of 2011.
