Suzlon Energy Limited, world’s third largest turbine maker has signed a $1.28 billion (approximately Rs. 6,200 crore) deal for 1,000 megawatts of wind power projects with Caparo Energy India.
Link Legal advised Suzlon with a team led by Partner Ajay Sawhney along with Senior Associate Deepak Chowdhury and Associate Manvi Mahajan.
Trilegal advised Caparo Energy India with Partner Charandeep Kaur along with Senior Associate Rachika A. Sahai and Associate Anuja Tiwari.
The Financial Express reports that Caparo Energy India is a wholly owned subsidiary of AIM listed Caparo Energy. The deal is Suzlon’s largest single order, according to Chief Financial Officer Robin Banerjee. Half of the capacity will be commissioned by March 2012, and the other half in the following year.
