Khaitan and Goodwin advise Ariba’s BPO services sale to Accenture for $51 million

Accenture has acquired Ariba, Singapore’s consulting and BPO (business process outsourcing) services assets based in India for $51 million (Rs. 230 crore).

 

Khaitan & Co acted as the legal adviser for Ariba with Partner Rabindra Jhunjhunwala leading the team along with Tax Partner Daksha Baxi.

 

Goodwin Procter LLP acted as the international legal counsel for Ariba with a team led by Associate Brian C. McPeake.

 

Accenture plc, Ireland with administrative headquarters in New York, USA is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, with more than two lakhs employees  serving clients in more than 120 countries.

 

Ariba Inc., USA is the leading provider of collaborative business commerce solutions. Ariba enables efficient and effective buying, selling, and cash management by combining industry-leading software as a service (SaaS) commerce technology with the world's largest web-based global trading community and expert capabilities and services to augment internal resources and skills as a flexible, cloud-based service.

 

Reuters reports that Accenture will absorb 160 employees from Ariba and will enter into a four-year non-competition agreement with the latter.
