On the eve of Teacher's Day, the Bar Association of India and the Society of Indian Law Firms felicitated Dr. Madhava Menon for his contribution to the growth of Indian legal education. The Chief Justice of India, who conferred the award of Best Law Teacher 2009 on Dr. Menon, also took the opportunity to express his concern over the lack of talented law teachers, and suggested that some means must be found to attract young law graduates towards academia, litigation and the judiciary.
Justice J S Verma, Fali S. Nariman, Lalit Bhasin and Arun Jaitley were amongst the other members of the legal fraternity present at the ceremony to offer felicitations to Dr. Menon.
