Chief Justices being sworn-in at Guwahati, Bombay, Allahabad and Calcutta High Courts

Press India Bureau reports that President Pratibha Patil has appointed Justice Madan Bhimarao Lokur, Judge of the Delhi High Court as the new Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court. He succeeds Chief Justice R.S. Garg who has since retired.

Justice Mohit Shantilal Shah is the new Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, who was previously serving as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. He takes over from Justice Anil Dave who was elevated to the Supreme Court in April of this year.

Justice Jainarayan Patel, Judge of the Bombay High Court will become the new Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. He replaces Justice Mohit Shantilal Shah, who is now the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

Justice Ferdino Inacio Rebello is the new Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.
