Saba Qureshi, who was assisting late Shahid Azmi in Fahim Ansari’s trial, has been appointed as his new defence counsel. Earlier this week, the court had rejected his bail application. He had sought bail stating that he needed to look for a new lawyer after Shahid Azmi was assassinated on February 11.
Judge M.L. Tahaliyani, who presiding over the trial of the terror attacks accused, appointed Saba Qureshi earlier this week. The court has also arranged for ample security to Qureshi. Ansari is accused of providing logistics support to the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in the attacks that left over 160 people dead in November last year.
