Amarchand, Luthra and Trilegal, the biggest firms in India, are not leading these rankings which were decided on the basis of volumes of deals and transactions. “Given the extraordinarily tough environment for deal making in 2009, advisory firms that made it to the League Tables for the year can be credited for their deep client relationships and market awareness,” says Arun Natarajan, CEO of Venture Intelligence in their press statement. Going forward, Venture Intelligence plans to update its League Tables each quarter, he added.

- 1. "Are these rankings accurate? My guess is that Amarchand or Luthra must be doing more deals than what has been reported. I dont think it makes sense to have a PE team if they are doing 10 to 15 deals a year only.". Guest, London
- 2. "I don't think these rankings are accurate. I am pretty sure that AMSS and Luthra have done lot more PE deals in 2009 than 21. ". Mangy, Singapore
