Justice Mohit S. Shah to be elevated as Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court

Justice Mohit S. Shah, the senior-most judge and acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, has been elevated as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.

Born in 1953, a son of a District & Sessions Judge, he graduated in political science before studying law. A keen academician, Justice Shah started practicing in the Gujarat courts right after his graduation in 1976. He was appointed as a Judge in the Gujarat High Court and was confirmed as permanent judge, two years hence.

Justice Shah will take over from acting Chief Justice, B. Bhattacharya who stepped in when Chief Justice Surinder Singh Nijjar was elevated to the Supreme Court in November.

That being dissatisfied with the response fromthe concerned authority I filed a second appeal U/S-19(3) of the R.T.IAct,2005 on 21-05-2010. A scanned copy of which is attached for yourkind perusal. That one forwarding letter from the DeputySecretary of West Bengal Information commission was sent to theRegistrar and Appellate Authority of the Calcutta High Court dated23-06-2010 and a copy of which forwarded to me regarding my complaindated 21-05-2010. a scanned copy of which is attach herewith for yourinspection. In these above circumstances I humbly requestingyou to take necessary steps and action to investigate into the matterto find out the actual truth behind it and kindly do justice for me.
