The media battle between actor Kamal Haasan and production house Pyramid Saimira turned silent today as the Madras High Court issued an order restraining both parties from making any public statements regarding the matter. Kamal Haasan's production house Raaj Kamal Films is embroiled in a dispute with Pyramid Saimira, who allege that Kamal Haasan has failed to fulfill his contractual obligations after accepting Rs 10 crore for a joint venture film, 'Marmayogi'.
Kamal Haasan had filed an application before the court asking it to restrain Pyramid Saimira from making any comments to the press regarding the dispute without prior permission of the Court. He alleged that Pyramid Saimira officials had spread false rumours about the case which had caused irreparable harm to his reputation.
The Single Judge, Justice G. Rajasuria, in his interim order, has restrained Kamal Haasan and his brother Chandra Haasan as well as Pyramid Saimira's Managing Director P.S. Swaminathan and another official K.S. Srinivasan, from making any statements relating to the matter.
