Kochhar & Co has established a 'Joint Venture' with MIO Lawyers & Legal Consultants in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Law Firm of Dr. Khalid Alnowaiser of Saudi Arabia.
Mohammad Issa Odeh (MIO) Lawyers, which has offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is a 13 lawyer firm according to its website and claims to have a total of 40 professional staff working in both the offices.
Dr Khalid Alnowaiser’s law firm, which has offices in Jeddah and Riyadh, has 10 lawyers and claims to focus on corporate and commercial matters in Saudi Arabia and Middle East.
Rohit Kochhar, Managing Partner of Kochhar & Co said, "We are the only leading and the largest corporate law firm that is going to have its presence in the Middle East to cater to the growing business needs of Indians in that part of the world which has a large population of expatriates".
The press release by PTI said that Kochhar will also help many Indian labourers, earning low wages, who have landed themselves in legal hassles in recent times, it will evolve a legal aid mechanism to provide them service on discounts.
Kochhar has offices in 6 cities in India and international offices in Atlanta, Singapore and Tokyo.
Law firms are looking outside the traditional UK and US law firms for entering into best friends. This year, Dua entered into a best friends relationship with a Spanish Law firm, Garrigues and Surana & Surana with a Uruguayan law firm Ferrere.
