In its second consultant hire in the last week, FoxMandal Little (FML) has gotten on board Member of Parliament and British Labour Party politician, Nigel Keith Anthony Standish Vaz.
A member of the parliament for Leicester East since 1987, Nigel signs up as a consultant to enhance and promote the firm’s London office. FML had on February 1, hired specialist Sudhir Mishra to head their Environmental Law practice from New Delhi.
A law graduate of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he studied law, Vaz worked as a solicitor for several years, including for Richmond Council, as a senior solicitor for the London Borough of Islington, and as solicitor at Highfields and Belgrave Law Centre in Leicester.
Keith Vaz has been a member of the Privy Council, a body that advises the sovereign comprising senior members of the House of Commons or the House of Lords, since 2007.
Right Honorable Keith Vaz is no stranger to controversy. Apart from having led a protest in Leicester against Salman Rushdie's novel, The Satanic Verses, Nigel Vaz has been in focus in the Filkin enquiry and the more infamous Hinduja Passport affair.
FML was the first law firm that opened office outside the country when they launched their London Office in 2008 with dual qualified lawyer, Ajit Mishra as a partner and three associates. Sources inform us that FML’s London offices practices only Indian Law targeting global companies looking at investing in India.
