Rohit Kochhar wins Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year

The Managing Partner of Kochhar & Co., Rohit Kochhar, has been presented the Rajiv Gandhi National Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Kochhar joins the ranks of luminaries like Kumaramangalam Birla and Adi Godrej, previous recipients of the awards.

Rohit Kochhar is the National Chairman and Managing Partner of Kochhar & Co., one of the arms of the Kochhar Group. The Kochhar Group also includes the full service consultancy Kochhar Business Services, the corporate investigation company, Pinkerton C & I, India, India's first law firm promoted LPO, Kochhar LexServe and the senior talent acquisition company Confiar Global.

Mr. Kochhar is the first practicing lawyer in India to head a company that has five distinct verticals separate from law firms. Although he practices as a full-time lawyer in accordance with Bar Council rules, he is the promoter and architect of Kochhar Group's innovative business practices. As Managing Partner of Kochhar and Co. he has led the firm from strength to strength, and the firm now has a strong corporate practice with six offices in India and three overseas offices.

In conversation with Bar & Bench Mr. Kochhar said that he was "humbled by this award." He added, "It inspires us to continue the entrepreneurial journey with greater zeal and zest. The pressure is now on us to continue thinking creatively and out of the box, so that we can identify the next challenge. This is the treasure we are seeking- India's next innovative idea."
