Amarchand Mangaldas won the Bangalore SILF Premier League 2012 which concluded at Sir MVIT grounds, Bangalore on February 19, 2012. The finals saw India Law Practice fight it out with Amarchand for the coveted title.

India Law Practice, batting first, set a target of 104 for Amarchand to chase down in the stipulated 10 overs. After losing their first wicket with just 18 runs on the board, captain Vijay Parthasarathi led from the front with a well made 32, retired not out. However, some disciplined bowling and fielding by India Law Practice ensured that Amarchand had a tight game and there was every possibility of the game going down to the wire.

Just at the point where the game could swing either ways, with Amarchand requiring 37 of 3 overs, Harsha Sudhindra of Amarchand, took the game away with belligerent batting taking 24 runs of the 8th over. With only 13 runs required of the next two overs, the pair of Harsha and Manjunath Ambale played sensibly to take their team home in 9.3 overs with 3 balls to spare.

The Chief Guest for the finals was Hon’ble Justice Ravi Malimath, a permanent judge of the Hon’ble Karnataka High Court. Hon’ble Justice Ravi Malimath, an ardent follower of the game, spoke beautifully on the occasion and encouraged the meeting of lawyers on sporting platforms on a regular basis.

Also on the dais were Mr. A.P. Ranganath, General Secretary, Advocate’s Association, Bangalore and Mr. B.C. Thiruvengadam, Partner, Thiru & Thiru and President of  the Bangalore Chapter of the Society of Indian Law Firms.
