Senior Advocate P.H. Parekh has been elected as the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) defeating another Senior Advocate Adish C. Aggarwala by a margin of just two votes.

Parekh has been elected president of SCBA for the fifth time.
The last year’s president, Ram Jethmalani came third with 735 votes while Parekh polled 757 votes, Aggarwala got 755 votes in the election held on Wednesday.
Speaking to Bar & Bench, Senior Advocate P.H. Parekh said, “There is lot of pending work to be done for the members of the SCBA and it will be my priority. My first priority is to see that the chambers are built for the members and genuine members are looked after”.
Other office bearers who have been elected include Senior Advocate Rakesh Kumar Khanna (vice-president), K.C. Kaushik (secretary), Gaurav Bhatia (assistant secretary), Vibhu Shanker Mishra (treasurer) and Neeraj Kumar Sharma (assistant treasurer).
Rakesh Khanna got 295 votes more than his nearest rival. K C Kaushik became the secretary defeating his nearest rival by 112 votes.
Last year, former law minister and Senior Advocate Ram Jethmalani contested the election for the first time and was elected president by a big margin.
