The Judicial Standards and Accountability Bill, 2010 (Bill) has been passed by the Lok Sabha after 14 consecutive days of the Parliament adjourning over the 2G spectrum scam.
The Mint reports the Bill has been passed and is one amidst 23 other Bills proposed for the winter session of the Parliament. The opposition parties have refused for the Parliament to continue its functions on the issue of the 2G scam and wants a JPC (Joint Parliament Committee) set up to investigate the 2G spectrum allocation which was conducted in 2008.
The Bill sets judicial standards, establishes a mechanism for dealing with complaints of misbehaviour or incapacity of a judge of the Supreme Court or a High Court and makes provisions for declaration of assets and liability by judges.
The Bill proposes to eradicate cases of corruption and set high standards for accountability to be met by judges. Bar & Bench previously reported of the Cabinet approving the Bill and how the Bill proposes to address the issue pertaining to ‘Uncle Judges’.

December 3, 2010 - 6:08pmLitigants have to be empowered . Empowerment will come once the Contempt of Courts' Act is abolished, when litigants will be able to express their opinion freely on the judgements passed by judges. Litigants' views on judgements should be mandatorily posted on the websites of the courts, and form part of the judgement. Only litigants' empowerment can eradicate the menace of corruption from the judiciary, and bring in more transparency and accountability in the workings of courts.

December 3, 2010 - 10:46pmLaw enforcement Authority,JUdiciary & Prisonsystem(Corrective centre) are absolutely of low standard .LOwer courts run by touts & clerical staff.Higher courts run by judges.Litigants -the sufferer are of no importance.JUdges often make up their mind(Unless public outcry)before the case starts- heaven may not change their views.SEldom they go through the whole written - Verbal evidences.O)f course Politician,Rich, have great clout over them.Supreme court should have overseeing body in exceptional cases(Like Privy Council)-Presidential Law Council,to deliberate on Supreme Court Verdicts & Many ushurped legislative functions. With CONCURRENCE of President of INdia(Without Cabinet or PM interference)-Final Verdict will be givenThe appropiate case should be free of Cout Fees,Only few advocates will be allowed to argue in the case at a very low fees- it is place of honour & Intrgrity JRB

March 11, 2013 - 10:03pmit is very difficult to comment on judiciary lower or higher,i feel it is not easy for all to judge like vikramaditya, but i have seen many normal peaple becoming abnormal after their selection in judiciary. they hve charm of power, money and a special authority what they enjoy ;in between they forget about the poor condition of litigants, bar and bench should take responsibility shoulder to shoulder if they want to see better judgment and justice.
