Aspi Chinoy is amicus as Bombay HC seeks harmonious interpretation of limitation in marriage laws

In a not too common three-judge decision, the Bombay High Court has sought a harmonious construction in connection with the the limitation periods prescribed by the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955, and the Family Courts Act of 1984. A Bench of Justices Naresh Patil, RD Dhanuka and S Jadhav held that a Hindu can only re-marry 90 days after the decree dissolving his or her marriage, provided no appeal has been made against that decree.
